§ 1What We Do

We write about next-to-skin textiles: how a fabric is constituted, how size is measured, how a garment is cared for, and general knowledge concerning the body and intimacy. Content is organised by section; each section page is itself a review under continuous revision, indexing a number of articles beneath it.

All content is openly accessible. No registration is required, and there is no paywall.

§ 2Why We Do This

Next-to-skin clothing is something everyone encounters every day, yet the public knowledge surrounding it is thin. Searches return mostly product pages and recommendation lists, and explanations of fibre, structure and measuring methods are often compressed into a few lines of marketing language.

We want to offer a different version: conclusions stated clearly, grounds set out plainly, and points of uncertainty marked. This version will not make anyone want to place an order immediately, but it can be consulted repeatedly.

§ 3What We Base Our Writing On

1. Public literature in textile science and physiology. Statements concerning mechanism or numerical value must be traceable to a verifiable public source.
2. National standards and ISO terminology. Terminology follows standard names; trade names are not used as a basis for classification.
3. Reproducible methods. Practical content gives steps and criteria for judgement, rather than stating a conclusion for the reader to follow.
4. Uncertainty explicitly marked. Where evidence is insufficient, the page states that the point is unresolved and explains where the gap lies.
